The week feels like it was pretty full. I guess it was really - bjj_moves
had his players over for the debrief dinner on Monday, goldengrove
went to mother's group and visited her mum and geekweevil
visited Tuesday, Wednesday I went to the osteo, Thursday I went along with goldengrove
to her tai chi lesson at her sister's place (taking Hamish), we went to the Nott Friday and Gab & l'Michael's engagement party on Saturday. It was a relief to just be around the house on the Sunday.
Thursday night was hilarious - Hamish's cousin Calum was fascinated by him, and Hamish was fascinated right back. Calum would tickle his feet then run away and hide, and Hamish did't take his eyes off Calum; there was a sense of "oh my god! someone my size!!!" coming from him. We put Hamish down for a bit in the bassinet while we were there, but it really is reaching the end of its life as he keeps getting bigger.
Unfortunately something about the weekend - possibly being a touch ill - disturbed his sleep cycles, so he's been up until after 11 every night, and difficult to settle. I have a winner of a bruise on the right arm where he kicked me sharply 5 times in as many minutes while I was walking with him. He's in bed now, I'm hoping that he stays there all night.
After much straining and frustration, Hamish has mastered putting his toes in his mouth. Its only a matter of time until he bites (well, gums) them and then screams. Still no sign of actual teeth, but on the plus side he's getting his own thumb in his mouth more (and therefore less in his eye, cheek and nose) so we can hopefully wind back using the dummy when the teeth do come through.
Discovery of the week: goldengrove
saying "sleeeeeeep" in a croaky voice to Hamish is the Funniest Thing Ever. Hamish laughing makes me & bjj_moves
laugh. Which makes goldengrove
do it more. Rinse, Wash, Repeat.20 identical stunned baby photos!
