So, for folks that didn't get mail spammed, Sprout is now officially retitled Hamish Cameron Anthony Drake. Not named after anyone (despite claims from anthonybaxter
to the contrary :)), and he has goldengrove
's surname, yes. Unbeknownst to us, Hamish was the boys name that goldengrove
's mum wanted to use when she had her kids.
Lessee... Hamish ended up, not unsurprisingly, with jaundice, and had to be put under the sunlamps for about 12 to 15 hours. The netting used to hold the sunglasses onto his face unfortunately made him look like a ham. mmm, ham. It cleared up nicely, but it was making him kinda quiet and lethargic. I think he scored a freckle from it, but I'm not sure.
We got him back after 3pm feed and goldengrove
got to sit and cuddle him for a couple of hours of blessed peace. When someone was creeping around to "not wake him up" we laughed ourselves silly, because we spent 10 mins poking and annoying him to wake up for feeding, but I can't deny that cuddling the quiet warm baby has some appeal too.goldengrove
is recovering well, and sends much thanks for all the congratulations and goodness sent our way. She's concentrating on herself and the bub and I get to be the social manager for the moment :) We're still not sure when she'll be let out of the hospital, let alone Hamish.
I'm starting to flag a little - it feels like the last day of a Con. I've been reading emails from lovely folks, but I've started to not be up to replying (i know folks don't mind, its just symptomatic). I'm also losing my temper very quickly with people who annoy me - pretty much everyone that was on the road today between 1.30 and 3 between Box Hill and Mount Waverley, for instance. a few more for the hyperkeen
(oh, btw - I'm mostly making posts so I don't have to type/say the same things to 50 different people :) folks shouldn't feel obliged to answer in case I think they Hate Our Baby or anything ;) )
