Liz is home. Hamish is home. I am dead. :)

More posting after making sure he has somewhere to sleep, somewhere to be changed, and something to eat. And then we must eat.

Hooray! No more jaundice! How is eating going? His, I mean. I can imagine that yours went well.

He is getting the hang of it, but each feed must be preceded by 5 minutes of full body screaming. We can't figure out why.

Not that my knowledge of my two is a substitute of knowledge for YOUR baby but...

it may be that you need to watch him closely to try to catch him slightly earlier in his hunger cycle and offer food when he's waking up, he's starting to poke his tongue out, before he starts crying.

I remember stages with the O-baby where I would feed for two hours, get up and stretch my legs then feed him again almost at once. It Doesn't Go On Forever which is how you save yourself from beating your head bloody against a wall.

Also... make sure you keep plying the mommy with water. Making milk's thirsty work ( also feeding -> hormone release -> thirst)

I think there's a very small window between dead to the world and screaming - less than 5 minutes. I am hoping that as the jaundice fades, we might get a bigger one.

Oh yes, the circular feeding cropped up yesterday ... finished just as he needed to start again.

8th-Sep-2008 11:27 am (UTC) - Hooray!
Hooray! Now the normal routine can begin.
10 CRY
20 EAT
30 SOIL

50 GOTO 10

Congrats and love to all.

So far, the screaming is only centered about being woken up and having something shoved in his mouth, the rest of the time he's... well, asleep.
