I wonder if someone will enter the photo of a Mexican driver ploughing through a group of riders? From the stories I hear, that represents the nature of cycling pretty well everywhere :-(

eh, I'd rather not start that way, because the next suggestion would be a bicyclist running over an elderly pedestrian.

I wasn't suggesting *you* do it - just wondering if someone bitter might.

You're right though, it would end up that way. But I'd be willing to bet there's a lot more photos of cyclists damaged by cars than of pedestrians damaged by riders.

And the riders who caused that particular incident are 1. anti-social, 2. arrogant to the extreme and 3. not representative of the cycling community in general.

It would be like judging all motorcycle riders on the actions of the Coffin Cheaters or similar.

If we're talking Melbounre CBD, I'm betting on photos of something shoving something sharp and pointy between the spokes of a bicycle couriers wheels. That epitomises at least a subset of the culture fairly well - bike couriers are as a general rule utterlt uncaring of anyone else on the road, footpath, or anywhere else they happen to want to be. Let alone road laws.

I am aware they are a breed apart :)
