So, having had a restful holiday so far
, late on Thurday, I called for a taxi and headed to the shop where I bought my monitor, having - much to my surprise - easily found the receipt...
"... we don't handle lcd screen warranty claims."
"See the bit where it says "1 year back to base warranty""
"It says 'exceptions' after that. And that's lcd screens and laptops"
"Perhaps you could be more explicit, or at least include 'please ring first'"
"You could take it to Samsung now, they're just around the corner"
"They'll be shut then"
"Take it home and ring them?"
"I have no transport for it"
... so, I end up leaving it there over night, with the intent to take it to Samsung that morning from the shop. Only, I thought to check - from the shop - that Samsung around the corner would actually take the damn thing. Nope. But they do offer pick up/swap service. Yeah, good, only I still can't get it home. Sooo, its still sitting at the shop. Didn't really matter, Samsung didn't ring. I'll get it tomorrow, with goldengrove
I get on with my day, which involved stalking dead people. Check out a couple of places, but I was really hoping to go to Coburg cemetary. I get to about a km from there and ride over a rose thorn, completely deflating my bike tire.... as its nearly up to 4pm and the Lyn Kosky "I'm a total fucktard" bike ban on trains, I am forced to turn around, back onto the trains and go home. And in the process of loading the bike into goldengrove
's car, I smack my head hard enough to see stars.
January 2008 - most fucked up and useless holiday I have ever had.
