Because I was running so much, I really didn't get to say more than hi to many people - I found that I was breezing through so much that it was a *wave* and "hope you're having fun". I sort of missed chatting to loads of folks that I only see at cons.
Food was ok, but a bit over cooked a couple of times. Somehow I got sick from a vegetable roll. I think the manufacturor snuck pumpkin into it. Running out of some of the drinks was a touch annoying, but I also wouldn't have predicted that it would be so warm, so I get why.
I really hate the layout the con uses. The more I think about it, the more I dislike it. The rego desk becomes a real bottleneck, and it looks like there's not enough space behind it for the orgs. Everything feels spread out a bit too much, and so there's a disjointed sensation. Having to use the backway to the canteen because the trader area closed early was frustrating, especially when the "Don't go this way" sign kept getting moved.
Other than that, and ending up with a crap room once :), things seemed pretty good. Orgs were around and helpful, nothing seemed to stutter too badly. I'm annoyed at some people that didn't show up, but I can beat them to death myself.
Of the 11 sessions I ran, Walter got killed 5 times, including being eaten twice. The Mars Rover remote control cars got nicked twice. One whole group was eaten by their totem. One of the playtesting groups frenzied on the building and destroyed it. A special mention to James Goldfinch for "Why don't you just flick the switch?". One group, on being confronted with a house full of bugs just sort of shrugged resignedly, walked in, got beer, walked out, crunching all the way. More urine than I care to think about was sprayed around someone else's territory. One team was a majority of Michaels.
